Mostly found in cases of fraud/forgery, counterfeiting, white collar crime, murder and theft etc. It is linked with the legal system as a forensic science. Documents usual have to do with personal affairs, like divorce or business. Just about any document can turn into a dispute, even just a sheet of paper with a hand written signiture can become a problem, the signiture could have been mechanically produced. A FDE's (forensic document examiner) help lawyers go over papers before entering a court case. Any one can benefit from this and many have . This has been a profession since 1870.
